Liberalism Has Failed
Christianity had traditionally asserted the doctrine of God’s omnipresence, i.e. that he was present everywhere in the created order whereas remaining separate form it. The new stress on divine immanence on the earth did not represent a return to the classical doctrine of omnipresence. Nor have been there miracles in the sense of God breaking into the natural order for God was not perceived as being “on the market” to break in; rather, all was miraculous for God was in all.
